Dear Swimmers,
It's been a while since you've heard from us here and there is reason for it. We have been doing some major deliberations regarding the future of Big Swell Swim. Big Swell came from a desire to create something special at a special place. A vision to bring people together and celebrate overcoming, growing and becoming better while giving back to our community. I have enjoyed this taking place over the last 9 years and have truly put countless hours of energy and love into this event. I'm proud of how we overcame the obstacles of the last couple years and continue to show up in many ways as a community for the Big Swell.
The news is that the Big Swell Swim will be on an indefinite pause in 2023.
There are many things that go into race production and many risks associated with a swim race especially. As a very small family-run event we have to consider what is best for our family at this time, despite the very strong pull to provide this experience for our loyal community.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the Big Swell Swim over the years. The memories of this race in the early years of growing our family will be forever intertwined.
